The laboratory is designed for analysis, development and optimization of digital circuits for a wide range of applications. These are mainly signal processing circuits in mobile wireless communications (such as 5G or Wi-Fi), sensors for the automotive industry, 3D vision using optical sensors, and radio navigation systems for monitoring areas of interest or airspace. The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments for signal analysis, both in the time and frequency domain, mainly from the brands Rohde & Schwarz and Agilent (signal, spectral and vector analyzers, function generators and oscilloscopes). For the purpose of designing radio sensors blocks, including the implementation of signal processing, we use a modern development kit ZCU216 from Xilinx, based on an FPGA-based chip that allows designers to program circuits of varying complexity (from vending machine control through Doppler speed sensors to radar systems for airspace monitoring).
