Educational Activities
The department provides specialized courses of bachelor’s study program Automation, follow-up master's study program Automatic Control and doctoral study program Electrotechnics and Informatics, i.e. lessons of automation and fundamentals of theory of control, technical and programming means of control applications, modelling and simulation of dynamical systems. For all study programmes the department provides lessons with general focus (mathematics, physics, numerical calculations, statistics), simulation and modelling of dynamical systems, theory of control and selected parts from artificial intelligence.
Research Activities
The research activity of the department focuses on the area of mathematical modelling of dynamical systems, control and optimization of dynamical systems, usage of soft computing skills (artificial neural networks, evolutionary computing techniques, fuzzy theory) for control and also usage of mathematical and statistical methods in control and experimental data processing. Other areas of research are usage of microprocessors for measurement and control of single-purpose applications, mechatronics and robotics.
