Our research centre has a long-standing focus on applied research and technology development in the fields of modern radar systems, signal processing, and artificial intelligence. We strive to create innovative solutions with real-world impact.
Main Research Areas
Radar Systems and Signal Processing
We develop advanced radar systems and algorithms for the detection, identification, classification, and localization of objects. Special attention is given to the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning methods for the analysis and optimization of radar signals.
Radar Absorbing Materials (RAMs)
We focus on the design and testing of materials with low radar reflectivity, such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). We develop lightweight functional layers based on carbon and magnetic nanoparticles that reduce the radar visibility of objects.
Navigation and Transport Applications
We use global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) to increase the safety and reliability of vehicles and infrastructure. Our solutions integrate navigation and radar data for intelligent transport systems.
The research centre brings together three expert teams that focus on different technological challenges of today:
Research Team Tomáš Zálabský
This team is engaged in applied research in radionavigation, microwave technologies, and antennas, focusing on advanced radar processing and system optimization using artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Research Team of Petr Doležel
This team focuses on machine and deep learning applications for visual data processing, object detection, localization and classification, data segmentation, and automation of production processes in industrial environments.
Research Team of Tomáš Brandejský
This team specializes in the analysis of large-scale data in transport systems, development of parallel algorithms, and optimization of computing infrastructures for high-performance computing, big data, and predictive analysis of traffic flows.
