Description:
The project grant will enable to prepare an accreditation application, submit it to the National Accreditation Bureau and implement a new bachelor study programme (SP) Automation at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEEI), University of Pardubice (UPCE), in a progressive field of digital technologies, IS/IT in the branches of robotics, cybernetics and artificial intelligence. The SP Automation shall reflect the major current industry trends such as manufacturing digitalization, industry 4.0, application of artificial intelligence methods and increasing levels of automation or application of robots in manufacturing. The new SP shall incorporate the above mentioned trends on the level of course structure, course content as well as study materials. During the preparation of the SP the range of theoretical knowledge necessary for exercising the profession and performing creative activities will be revised. Emphasis will be placed on creating and strengthening the link between theory presentation and practical demonstrations as well as laboratory experiments with the use of industry solutions. The key part of the project will be establishing relevant professional industrial automation laboratories. The project will support educational development in the field of Cybernetics, in which FEEI has been providing education since 2008. The project will be solved and the study programme further realized in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics and Administration. As part of inter?faculty collaboration at UPCE selected classes will be taught with the emphasis on interdisciplinarity and the educational topics from the field of Informatics, which is realized within the Institutional Accreditation. The cooperation will be realized in the ways of including interdisciplinary topics in selected courses, announcing topics of final theses or participating in committees for state final exams. The interdisciplinarity of the SP will be supported by involving courses such as soft skills, courses from the field of law, orientation in information sources, small and medium?sized enterprise, marketing, presentation enabling to use the knowledge from the essential professional courses in other fields of human activity
