Researchers from the Jan Perner Transport Faculty (JPTF) and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (FEEI) are involved in the research plan Theory of transport systems. The research plan was solved since 2005 in four key research areas:
  • Optimization of technological processes and management of transport systems
  • Development of transport system in the new socio-economic conditions
  • Theory of information technology and optimization problems in transport
  • Control, optimization and diagnostics of complex dynamic systems

Specification of the area covered by the Department of Process Control (DPC):

Control, optimization and diagnostics of complex dynamic systems – solution for this area was focused on the control of multivariable systems both in terms of multi-dimensional control in general and use of a specific method of predictive control and its applications. Another area was a control of systems with more inputs than outputs. In this case the static compensator for design of simple decentralized control of these systems was proposed. Last but not least researchers covered the issue of modelling and control of nonlinear systems using artificial neural networks and regression analysis, and problems connected to control using artificial neural networks. They carried out an analysis of functionality of algorithms for inverse control, indirect control, direct control and they began analyses of methods of adaptive control.
