Applied research and experimental development of methods and algorithms of signal processing of radio, acoustic, optical and other data for detection, localization, identification and classification of objects of interest and their properties
Provider: Univerzita Pardubice
Programme: Studentská grantová soutěž
Implementation period: 01.01.25 - 31.12.25
Workplace:
Fakulta elektrotechniky a informatiky - FEI
Investigator: Honc Daniel
Description:
The project aims to strengthen the scientific research activities of PhD students at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences in the calendar year 2025. Within the project, applied research and experimental development will be carried out in selected tasks focused on the detection, localization, identification, and classification of objects, as well as extraction of their properties following the priorities of research activities of the FEI. Specifically, the project includes research and development in the areas of object detection and signal classification and image data segmentation for industrial applications, as well as in the area of biomedical signal analysis and its use for the diagnosis of medical conditions and patient rehabilitation, radar object classification algorithm design and radar signal processing, and last but not least, mathematical models, optimization algorithms and simulation approaches for the analysis and optimization of complex systems through advanced computational methods, simulation techniques and machine learning, including the processing of large volumes of data. Within the framework of the partial project activities, there will be active and close cooperation between the doctoral students and their supervisors. The project's lead researcher will intensively supervise the work of the sub-groups throughout the entire period.
