Applied research and experimental development of methods, algorithms and approaches for detection, localization and classification of objects and extraction of their properties
Provider: Univerzita Pardubice
Programme: Studentská grantová soutěž
Implementation period: 01.01.24 - 31.12.24
Workplace:
Fakulta elektrotechniky a informatiky - FEI
Investigator: Honc Daniel
Description:
The project is aimed at unifying the scientific research activities of PhD students at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in the calendar year 2024. Within the project, applied research and experimental development will be carried out in selected tasks focused on detection, localization, identification and classification of objects and extraction of their properties in accordance with the priorities of research activities of the FEEI. Specifically, the project aims at finding appropriate mathematical tools for data processing and advanced methods of nonlinear predictive control, object detection and signal classification and image data segmentation for industrial applications, innovative methods of modelling and simulation of technological processes including the design of hybrid genetic programming algorithms. The project also addresses innovative methods in the field of road traffic simulations and advanced radar signal processing methods oriented towards detection and identification of micro-Doppler shifts of radar targets and object classification algorithms for selection and detection of objects with lower detection threshold. The sub-project activities will involve active and close collaboration between PhD students and their supervisors. The work of the sub-groups will be intensively supervised by the project leader throughout the period.
